I like to look through pictures of soldiers during the Vietnam war and many of them personalize their helmets and gear in unique ways. I like the guys that have cigarettes packs and waller prints of their old ladies, and playing cards on their helmets. I took that concept and gave this character an ace of spades card for his helmet band. This is simultaneously inspired the the song with the same title by Motorhead. Unlike his counterpart, the "joker," this guy is more serious, callous, and is a stone-cold killer. I imagine he is in some sort of leadership position and an advisory position and no one messes with this guy. He is one of the baddest dudes on the battlefield. He is the Ace of Spades.
