I drew this in my skecthbook in high school around 20 years ago and it wasn't until I started painting that I really brought this image to life and gave it some more power. This was the first time I added the ripped texture effect in the mask. I spent some time in Europe I added some of that imagery in the background landscape. 99% of European towns and cities have a little church up the tops of hills like in this picture. There's piles of bodies int he background that illustrated the devastation of the plague during the 1300s.
